Google Pixel 8a specifications (rumoured)

Reports have revealed that the Pixel 8a will feature a 6.1-inch OLED panel that offers full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device will come preloaded with Android 14 and is likely to be one of the first phones to get the Android 15 OS upgrade when it arrives later this year. A recent report claimed that the Pixel 8a could get up to seven years of security updates.

The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro flagship phones that are slated to release in October 2023 are powered by the Tensor G3 chipset. Speculations suggest that the Pixel 8 could use either the same chip or a down-clocked version of it. The SoC is likely to be accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It could be backed by a 4,500mAh battery and may support 27W fast charging. To recall, the Pixel 7a packs a 4,380mAh battery with 18W charging support. Like its predecessor, the Pixel 8a is also expected to support 7.5W wireless charging.

For security, it will feature an in-screen fingerprint scanner. It may continue to feature the 13-megapixel front camera available on the Pixel 7a. The horizontal camera bar on its back may house a 64-megapixel primary camera with OIS support and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens. It may have an IP67-rated chassis for durability.

Google Pixel 8a Price

To recall, the Pixel 7a was launched in Canada at a price of CAD 599 for the 128 GB variant. It is likely that the Pixel 8a will be priced higher than the Pixel 7a.
