CBSE Result 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to declare the CBSE Class 10 and CBSE Class 12 results soon. The board is yet to announce the date for Class 10 and 12 results. While some reports suggest it may release this week, the lack of confirmation has left many students worried about the declaration date of the exam results.
This year, CBSE made changes to the assessment scheme for Class 10 and 12 exams, with a focus on competency-based questions. In Class 10, half of the questions (50%) tested competency through formats such as MCQs, case-based questions, and source-based integrated questions. This is 40% more than last year. Objective questions were only MCQs, which had a weightage of 20%. The weightage of short answer and long answer type questions was reduced by 30%, from 40% earlier.
Similar changes were made in Class 12 exams as well. Here, 40% of the questions were competency-based, following the same format as Class 10. Objective questions remained MCQs, with a weightage of 20%, while short answer and long answer type questions had a weightage of 40%, down from 50% last year. These changes are aimed at aligning assessment with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting a more progressive approach.
