Expectations for Apple WWDC 2024

Apple will talk about its latest AI innovations during WWDC, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. These new AI features may not be as flashy as the ones offered by Microsoft or Google, but they will focus on practical applications in real life like auto-generating emojis or transcribing voice memos. A partnership with OpenAI is also proposed, which will lead to further integration of ChatGPT into Apple’s OS. Apple is also in talks with Google to integrate Gemini AI along with getting in touch with Anthropic.

A Smart Recap tool is expected that will summarize missed text, notifications, and media like web pages, documents, and news articles, helping users to efficiently manage iOS notifications.

The Voice Memos app is likely to get AI-generated transcription capabilities, expanding the currently available features like system-wide captions and voicemail transcripts.

Some of the new AI features expected on the device are Safari internet search, Spotlight search, suggestions for writing emails and texts, retouching photos, generating emojis based on text, and more. Siri is also expected to get upgrades like better functionality on the watch and a more natural voice.

IOS 18

iOS 18 is expected to be one of the most ambitious upgrades in Apple’s history. iOS 18 may come with a feature that will allow users to easily change the colors of app icons and freely arrange icons on the home screen.

To compete with companies like Google and Microsoft, Apple will aim to strike a balance between innovation and security and increase the level of privacy.

Apple is also expected to announce upgrades for macOS, tvOS, watchOS, padOS, and more.

Since the event is very close, we will soon know what Apple has in store for WWDC this time.
