Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) will receive an extended gameplay presentation later this month. In a first for the franchise, the studio is partnering with Netflix to premiere the footage before making it available on YouTube.
The exclusive presentation is scheduled for August 27, 2026, giving Netflix subscribers the first look at the highly anticipated title before the footage is released worldwide.
GTA 6 Extended Footage Premiere Date and Time
Rockstar confirmed that “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” will premiere on Netflix on August 27 at 3:00 PM ET.
For viewers in India, the livestream will begin at 12:30 AM IST on August 28.
After Netflix’s exclusive window, Rockstar will publish the extended footage on its official YouTube channel and website at 9:00 PM ET (6:00 PM PT) on August 27, which translates to 6:30 AM IST on August 28.
The schedule gives Netflix approximately six hours of exclusive access before the presentation becomes available to everyone for free.
What to Expect From the Extended Look
Rockstar has not revealed how long the presentation will be, but the title suggests fans can expect a more detailed look at GTA 6, potentially featuring new gameplay footage, additional story details, and a closer look at the game’s open world.
The announcement also comes after months of fan speculation surrounding a possible third GTA 6 trailer, making this presentation one of the biggest marketing events ahead of launch.
GTA 6 Release Date
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, marking Rockstar’s first new mainline GTA title in more than 13 years since the release of GTA V.
The game follows protagonists Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval as they navigate the fictional state of Leonida, including a modern version of Vice City. According to Rockstar, the pair become caught in a massive criminal conspiracy after a robbery goes wrong, forcing them to rely on each other to survive.
Pre-orders for GTA 6 opened in June 2026, with the Standard Edition priced at $80 and the Ultimate Edition available for $100.
