Redmi Note 17 Pro Launched with Huge 9,000mAh Battery, Rugged Build, and 120Hz AMOLED Display

Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi Note 17 Pro in China, bringing one of the biggest batteries ever seen in a mainstream smartphone. Along with its massive 9,000mAh battery, the new mid-range device focuses on durability, long battery life, and a premium display.

Massive 9,000mAh Battery with 67W Fast Charging

The biggest highlight of the Redmi Note 17 Pro is its 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, designed to deliver extended battery life. Xiaomi has paired it with its in-house Surge G1 battery management chip to improve charging efficiency and battery health.

The phone supports 67W wired fast charging and also offers 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing users to charge compatible devices directly from the phone.

To give buyers extra confidence, Xiaomi is introducing a five-year battery service plan for early customers. If the battery’s health drops below 80% within the first four years, the company will replace it free of charge. A battery replacement option will also be available during the fifth year.

Built to Handle Tough Conditions

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is designed with durability in mind. It carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, making it highly resistant to dust, water, and even high-pressure water jets.

For added protection, Xiaomi has used a metal die-cast internal frame, shock-absorbing materials, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 to protect the display from accidental drops and scratches.

6.83-inch AMOLED Display

The smartphone features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (2772 × 1280) and a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations.

The panel can reach a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, making it easier to use outdoors. It also includes eye-comfort technologies such as 3,840Hz PWM dimming and support for brightness as low as 1 nit for comfortable viewing in dark environments.

Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Processor

Powering the Redmi Note 17 Pro is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, which is aimed at providing reliable everyday performance while maintaining good power efficiency.

The phone comes with LPDDR4X RAM, while storage varies by model. The 128GB variant uses UFS 2.2 storage, whereas the higher-capacity models are equipped with faster UFS 3.1 storage.

Camera Setup

The Redmi Note 17 Pro features a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera for photos and video calls.

Video recording is limited to 1080p at 30fps.

Software and Connectivity

The device runs HyperOS 3 out of the box and supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and dual stereo speakers.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro is currently available in China in four color options:

• 8GB + 128GB: 1,599 yuan (~$236)
• 8GB + 256GB: 1,899 yuan (~$280)
• 12GB + 256GB: 2,199 yuan (~$324)
• 8GB + 512GB: 2,299 yuan (~$339)

The smartphone is already on sale in China. Alongside the Pro model, Xiaomi has also unveiled the standard Redmi Note 17.
